What is Lovenox?
Lovenox is an injectable anticoagulant, or blood thinner. It is also classified as a low molecular weight heparin. Lovenox is available in concentrations of 100 mg/ml and 150 mg/ml. It is usually administered once or twice daily as a subcutaneous injection.
How long can you take Lovenox?
The usual duration of administration is 7 to 10 days [see Clinical Studies]. A dose of Lovenox of 40 mg once a day subcutaneously may be considered for hip replacement surgery for up to 3 weeks.
